Behind the Lens...

Hi, welcome to my website! My name is Kaylee Vaughan, and I am the face behind Photo by Kay.  I have been taking pictures for five years now. I discovered photography by somewhat of an accident.  I got a camera during my sophomore year of high school just for fun.  Little did I know, a few weeks later I would be going to take baseball pictures for fun.  From there, it was all history.  I fell in love with taking baseball pictures and became passionate about making people happy by giving them their photos.  I fell in love with the smile people get when I show them how good they look, or the reactions from families who can't be there to see their players.  I fell in love with every aspect of photography, because to others it may just be clicking a button, but to me it's so much more.  I went through a lot in high school, and not only would I say that my starting this business was a 'happy accident', but it also saved me in a way.  I'm forever grateful for where I am now and all the people who have supported me and never doubted how far I will go!  I'm so happy to have you all along for this crazy ride!

Some things you may not know about me...
1. I am a current Junior at Missouri State University, majoring in journalism with a minor in communications. With that, I want to one day work for a sports team doing essentially what I do now for the Bears Baseball team.

2.  Some of my favorite things are: Sunday mornings, tanning, fishing, being with my family, chocolate ice cream, seafood, Sprite, 7 Brew, and a good romance book! 

3. I am a substitute teacher and have worked at two daycares.  I love kids and want to teach one day! I have to live out my photography dreams first, though!

4. I grew up in a big football-loving family, but I couldn't take football photos due to cheering all my life (so I know the most about football vs other sports).
